Trivoli Tavern is absolutely worth your time if you’re visiting Chicago! It is a little difficult to secure a reservation since they come out at a specific time two weeks in advance, but don’t give up, and you’ll get one. The service was out of this world, and the atmosphere is so cool. It’s feels like you’re transported into a different country as soon as you turn into the cobblestone path leading towards the restaurant. The Parkerhouse Rolls were a nice starter, and the entrees were incredible. I highly recommend both the chicken pot pie and vodka rigatoni. The chicken pot pie was so rich in flavor with the perfect pie crust, and the vodka sauce was delicious. The ice cream with warm fudge was great, but the star of the show was the sticky date cake. It is completely worth the hype, and one of the best desserts I have ever had. It was warm, incredibly buttery, and perfectly sweet. Do not forgo ordering it. I will surely be returning here for any special occasions!

Overall great experience. The food was good. The cornbread was okay I prefer my cornbread a little on the sweeter side opposed to savory and this one was on the savory side. The lobster Mac and cheese was good but the burger and chicken pot pie were definitely my favorite entrees. The date cake was exceptional. It’s something different but still so good. The ice cream alone on top was phenomenal as well.

Trivoli Tavern is a must for newcomers to Chicago, but also for foodies and the like . The restaurant its self is so gorgeous from the cobble stone street walkway to the alleyway string lights that light up the outside dining area. The inside is just as gorgeous. It gives the Victorian era vibes where you feel like old money dressed up! The staff was exceptional especially during the busy weekend rush. We had the vodka rigatoni and they recommended adding the spicy sausage and it did not disappoint. This was the best pasta I’ve ever had to date! And the freaking sticky date cake 🤯 pure culinary genius. The brown butter cream ice cream went very well with this dessert! This meal was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend. Make reservations well in advance. Wait time is in the hours if you do not.

We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday at Trivoli Tavern the other day and had an amazing experience from start to finish! The service was absolutely top-notch, the food was delicious, and the vibe was everything we could have hoped for. Trivoli Tavern has this warm, intimate, old-world feel — like a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The lighting was dim and cozy, the decor had this timeless, slightly vintage charm, and the whole atmosphere just felt effortlessly cool and inviting. I ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken, but when the food arrived, it was actually the Coal Roasted Chicken. Honestly, I didn’t even notice at first because it was so good. Our server came by, immediately spotted the mix-up, and without hesitation said, “We’re going to fix that.” I was like “uhhh, but I ate most of it already”. She in the cutest way was basically like “nope, we’re fixing it”. She quickly brought out the Crispy Fried Chicken I originally ordered — and to my surprise, they didn’t charge me for either dish. I was blown away by how graciously and professionally they handled the little mess up! It’s rare to find a place that not only has great food and a beautiful setting, but also genuinely cares about giving you a flawless experience. We left so full and so happy. I can’t recommend Trivoli Tavern enough — we’ll definitely be back!

Just wanted to share photos of the food. Definitely recommend the bread with lavender honey. The potatoes au gratin were very creamy and soft, recommend if you’re getting a side. The date cake is infact as good as everyone says it is. I will go back just for that. Unfortunately didn’t get to try a cocktail, was there for lunch. My friends mentioned that none of the spicy pastas they ordered were spicy, that was the only complaint , so really there were none. Can’t wait to go back! The price definitely includes the experience. The service was phenomenal! We had a group of 5 for lunch, and they we’re accommodating to our group being late, letting us know they wouldhold our table but we’d be cut off after 1hr 45min, which was perfect considering we could have lost the table completely.
